- How does it all work?
Riders arrive 30 minutes prior to their ride time. You will watch a 5 minute safety and demonstration DVD, be provided with an individual lesson and a practice to gain your confidence before enjoying an awesome Segway fun experience.
- Are they easy to ride?
We will have you riding like an expert in no time. We provide you with all the professional training and practice you will need to be confident on your Segway. A Segway is a self-balancing machine. You lean forward to go forward and lean back to stop.
- Is there an age or weight limit?
Yes, the minimum age for riding our segways is 12 years and over. Our oldest, young at heart rider is Harold at 87 years of age. He has been twice!You must be over 40kg and under 120kg to safely ride on an i2 segway.
- Are all the Segway experiences guided?
Yes, all of our Segway experiences are guided and are a ton of fun with free riding time provided on all tours.
- What is the maximum amount of riders i can book for?
We can take up to 18 riders at one time. You can book as many guests as you wish and we will run the tours back to back. Whilst the first group is out having a blast we will train the next group to leave immediately after the first group returns.
- What if it rains?
We still operate in light rain but it is entirely up to you. We want you to enjoy every minute of your Segway fun.
- What shoes/clothing should i wear?
Flat soled shoes are required. Please, no high heel boots or wedges.
And remember, if you are segwaying in winter wear a coat and gloves. It can get cold in Canberra!! We have a few pairs of gloves on hand if you forget….
- Where do the tours go?
The 30 minute tour departs from our kiosk at the edge of Lake Burley Griffin, along the lakes foreshore and taking you past the National Gallery, High Court of Australia and National Portrait Gallery. There are lots of fun ramps and twists and turns that you will thoroughly enjoy. We continue down to the grass at Reconciliation Place. Here you will enjoy some free riding time, slaloming around cones and having a blast. Photo time!
We continue over to Old Parliament House, the Indigenous tent embassy and around areas of the National Rose Gardens for more free riding if we have time. We then glide past Questacon, down the tunnel and back to the kiosk.
The 1 hour tour includes the 30 minutes ride above, plus continues over Commonwealth Avenue Bridge, along the lakes foreshore, past the Captain Cook Memorial Jet to areas of Commonwealth Park and pretty Nerang Pool gardens. We will take more photos for you at Gallipoli Reach with the beautiful lake and iconic buildings in the background. Return is via the Carillion and Kings Avenue Bridge or an alternate route back over Commonwealth Avenue Bridge passing the Australian of the Year walk . The return routes are dependent upon road work access.
- Do i have to make a booking?
